Entertainment Announcement for the 2017 Bloomin’ Temple Festival

Temple Parks & Recreation is pleased to announce that country music legend, Johnny Lee, will take the Mac Haik stage at the 12th Annual Bloomin’ Temple Festival presented by H-E-B on Friday, April 28th.

The original Urban Cowboy, Johnny Lee began his musical career working at the famous Gilley’s Club in Pasadena, TX as well as on tour. However, contributing to the soundtrack of the 1980 hit movie Urban Cowboy, starring John Travolta and Debra Winger, is what catapulted Lee to fame. The movie featured several hit singles, including Lookin’ For Love, which became Lee’s first Gold Record. The song spent three weeks at the top of the Billboard Country Music Singles Charts as #1 and #2 on the Pop Music Singles Charts.

He followed up Lookin' For Love with One In A Million, which spent two weeks at #1. Additional #1 singles include - Bet Your Heart On Me, The Yellow Rose (a duet with Lane Brody), and You Could've Heard a Heart Break.

Still writing, still performing and still Lookin’ For Love, Johnny Lee is keeping as busy as ever.

The 2017 Bloomin’ Temple Festival presented by H-E-B will be held near E. Central Avenue and S. 4th Street in downtown Temple on Friday, April 28th and Saturday, April 29th. The festival will feature all day entertainment, two musical stages, 21 bands featuring the acts in Hip Hop, Tejano, Red Dirt, and Country Music, a Kid’s Zone, carnival, vendors, food trucks & more!
