Sammons Community Center Closed for Remodel

The Sammons Community Center, located at 2220 West Avenue D in Temple, closed to the public on October 3rd as the facility undergoes extensive renovations and updates. The $1.75 million renovation was approved by voters during the 2015 Parks Bond Election. The facility is expected to be closed for approximately seven months, and recreation staff anticipates the newly remodeled facility to reopen in the May of 2017.

Renovations to the Sammons Community Center will include a newly redesigned facility entrance, interior renovations featuring additional classrooms, a new deck with outdoor furniture which overlooks Lake Polk and Sammons Golf Course, and a reconfigured parking lot which includes road entry work.

Current adult and senior programs held at Sammons Community Center will be relocated to other city facilities until further notice.
