F.O.G. (Fats, Oils & Grease)

Fats, oils & grease come from food preparation from both residential and food manufacturing sites.  FOG also comes from car wash facilities and auto repair shops.

At food manufacturing sites, FOG is generated from meat fats, lard, cooking oils, shortening, butter/margarine, food scraps, baking goods, sauces and dairy products.  Motor oils and grease from car washes and auto repair locations are also classified as FOG.

Improperly disposing of FOG down the drain can cause blockages in your wastewater system, resulting in sanitary sewer overflows (SSO's).
