Grassy Lots 
Any portion of a lot or tract of land where grass or weeds exceed 9 inches of growth.  This includes the area to the curb line and to the center of the alley (where applicable).

Junked Vehicles

 Vehicles which are visible from a public place that do not have lawfully attached to it: an unexpired license plate; or a valid motor vehicle inspection; or has remained inoperable for more than 72 hours on public property or 30 consecutive days on private property.

*Junk Vehicle hearings are held the last Wednesday of the corresponding month at 1:30 PM in the Code Enforcement Conference Room, 2 N. Main St. Suite 101.*

Rubbish, Trash and Debris

Items not permissible in areas of public view (front yard, back yards without privacy fences, porches & alleyways).  For the definition of what the city deems “rubbish” see Ordinance Chapter 40, Section 2.

Building Number
Each owner of record shall display address numbers on all new and existing residences and buildings in such a manner and in such a position as to be plainly visible and readable from the center of the street fronting the property. Numbers shall be made of durable materials and shall be of a contrasting color to the background.
(d) Individual address numbers shall be:
(1) At least 3” in height in areas zoned Residential;
(2) At least 6” in height for apartments and areas zoned Commercial or Industrial.
(3) Arabic numerals or alphabet letters.
(4) Placed in a horizontal, vertical, or 45 degree angle line.

Garage Sales

Occasional or garage sales will be permitted in those zoning districts where primary use of property is residential.
(1) Only the sale of tangible personal property by the property owner who does not hold themselves out as engaging, nor does habitually engage, in the business of selling such tangible personal property shall constitute a garage or occasional sale under this article.
(2) There shall not be more than 2 (2) sales by the same property owner during any 12
month period, or on the same premises.
(3) All sales shall be confined to the garage, driveway, or patio of the premises.
(4) No merchandise acquired solely for the purpose of resale shall be sold.
(5) The duration of any sale shall not exceed 3 (3) consecutive calendar days. Unsold items
shall be placed out of public sight at the end of each day of sale and upon completion of
sale.
